    Our Purpose

Welcome to RangMudra, a vibrant studio nestled in the heart of Bangalore, a city renowned for its rich tradition and art. Our mission at RangMudra is to revive the age-old art of block printing, creating a dedicated workshop and experience center for all block printing enthusiasts.

RangMudra is more than just a studio; it's a passionate space where eco-printers, natural color enthusiasts, and block printers come together. We aim to be a hub of creativity and sustainability, where pre-existing fabrics can be given a new lease of life. Our "Bring your fabric and print your design" concept is designed to resonate with many, providing a therapeutic escape that calms the mind through the art of block printing.

We are committed to using organic fabrics and high-quality imported surplus materials for printing, driving us towards sustainability. Our vision extends to empowering rural women and training government school girls inclined towards art. This journey is a step-by-step process, and we're embracing the flow with your support and encouragement.

    Our Story

The seed for RangMudra was planted through my passion for paints and colors, which led me to Studio Bagru. The warmth and hospitality I received from Rajshree, Anup, and his family were unparalleled. My interaction with Jeremy, the co-founder of Studio Bagru, was a meeting of minds, sharing a common vision that eventually led to the birth of RangMudra.

I am grateful for the guidance and initial ideas provided by my mentors, Namratha and Arun from Colors Ashram. Shyamala aunty from Blocks and Prints and her husband also played a crucial role in encouraging me to pursue this dream.

A special thanks to my husband Yogesh, my mother, and my boys for their unwavering faith in my ideas and for being there every step of the way. The support from my well-wishers, who have always encouraged me and stood by my side, has been invaluable. A heartfelt thank you to each one of you.

    The Meaning Behind RangMudra

The name RangMudra was conceived during a conversation with my husband Yogesh. "Rangu," meaning color in Kannada, sparked the initial idea, but we wanted something with a broader meaning. Thus, "Rang," meaning color, and "Mudra," meaning print, came together to form RangMudra, a name that resonated with everyone, including Jeremy and Namratha. This marked the beginning of RangMudra as a reality.

Join us at RangMudra, where we celebrate the colors of tradition and the prints of passion.
